Basketball is back!

We hope everyone has enjoyed the summer break and are fired up and ready for an exciting year of Magic Basketball in 2026. Below are some important dates regarding the recommencement of basketball over the coming weeks:

TRAINING resumes from the following dates:
3Street – From Tuesday 27th January
All schools – From Wednesday 28th January
Coaches or Team Managers will share your team specific times as usual, as a number of teams have new time slots and venues.

GAMES in both our Westgate and Altona Comps resume Friday 30 January and Saturday 31 January. Monday and Wednesday night teams commence first week in February. Check PlayHQ for fixtures and game times.

 

ELEVATE Training Sessions

We had a fantastic response to our first Magic ELEVATE Camp last month, hosted by PlusOne Basketball. Over 50 Magic players from our U8 to U16 girl’s teams participated on the day. Sessions included individual micro-skill development and game simulations, with great feedback from those who attended on the day. The club is currently working with a number of coaches and venues to expand the ELEVATE skills training programme through 2026. Stay tuned for upcoming opportunities.

 

New Uniform Update Our exciting new Nike Magic playing uniforms will soon be available for launch on court. The club will receive all stock of ordered uniforms first week in February. Orders will then  be collated by team and will be collected & distributed to players by your Coach or Team Manager. Coaches or Team Managers will also then confirm on-court dates for new uniforms for your team. The existing/old uniforms are to be worn until that date is confirmed to your team.

New Players Wanted

The new Winter basketball season will commence from term 2 (late April). We have opportunities in all age groups for new teams and new players for the new season. If you know any players keen to join the club for the new season, please ask them to reach out to the club via president@williamstownmagic.asn.au or register on the waitlist via this link
