Williamstown Magic?
Williamstown Magic is a junior basketball club based in Williamstown, drawing players from Williamstown and surrounding suburbs as far as Altona, Footscray and Newport. We have teams in both the Altona Bay Basketball Association, with games played at the Altona Sports Centre and the Westgate Basketball Association with games played at Whitten Oval.
I am a new player; how do I register?
Registrations for Williamstown Magic Basketball Club are done using the online registration system PlayHQ and it takes around 5 minutes to complete for each new player. Please go to the following link and register on our wait list

How much does it cost to play basketball?
Registration Fees will cover both competition and training costs.
The break down of our registration fees for the 2022 Autumn Season are
- Match Fees (24 weeks): $185.00
- Training Venue Hire Cost: $155.00
- less 2021 Cancellation Discount: $80.00
- Total: $260.00

How about uniforms?
All players are required to purchase a uniform which consist of a reversible singlet and a pair of shorts. Uniforms can be purchased using the online merchandise system. Please follow the link below to order your uniform:

What are the Season Dates?
The current 2023 / 2024 Summer Season will begin on the 2nd of October 2023 (1st Monday of Term 4) and will complete with Finals played on the 27th of March 2024 (end of Term 1). There will be a break over the Summer Holidays.

Summer Season: Term 4 and Term 1
Winter Season: Term 2 and Term 3
Where do we train and when?
The training times depend on the availability of coaches and venues. Training sessions normally run for 1 hour.
Currently our teams train at the following local schools between 4:30pm and 7:45pm.
- Williamstown High School Junior Campus gym (Bayview Street)
- Bayside Secondary College (Kororoit Creek Road)
We try to get the younger teams to train earlier in the evening.
Where do we play?
Games at the Altona Basketball Competition are played at the following two venues
- Altona Sports Center, Queens Street, Altona Meadows
Games at the Westgate Basketball Competition are played at the following venues
- VU Community Stadium, Whitten Oval, 417 Barkly Street, Footscray
- RecWest Braybrook, 39 Lily Street, Braybrook
- VU Footscray Park, Ballarat Road, Footscray

What are the age groups?
In the Winter 2023 / 2024 Season the age groups will be
- U8 Born 2017 / 2018
- U10 Born 2015 / 2016
- U12 Born 2013 / 2014
- U14 Born 2011 / 2012
- U16 Born 2009 / 2010
- U18 Born 2007 / 2008
- 18 & U18 Born 2006 / 2007 / 2008
