This program was collaboratively designed by the Power House Junior Rugby Club, Williamstown Magic Basketball Club and Altona Badmington Centre and students of the Master of Social Work in conjunction with Hobson’s Bay Community Fund and the University of Melbourne.
The pilot program consists of 6 one-hour sessions occurring from June to August 2022. The purpose of the program is to introduce rugby, basketball or badmington to young people of all abilities in an inclusive, accessible, fun, and empowering way.
These sessions are designed to eliminate the barriers for participation in sport and prioritise social connection, basic skill building and teamwork. Making friends and having fun is at the heart of this program!
